Electrex Electrical Installation and Industrial Generators Detroit

Electrex Electrical Installation of Industrial Generator DetroitAre power outages costing you thousands or dollars?

Are blackouts stopping production, causing late deliveries, and even cutting profits?

Power outages may be a fact of life, but for businesses, they can be a serious handicap in your day-to-day production. Unplanned downtime can cost a business dearly every day, and getting back to full production may take longer than any business would want.

Electrex Industrial recently worked with Kuka Systems to help protect their business from outages and blackouts. When Kuka was affected by a blackout, they required a minimum of 5 hours to get back up and running. Five hours for a company like Kuka Systems can be devastating to their productivity, as well as their profits.

You can read the full story about Electrex’s work with Kuka here, but below is a quick guide to blackouts and how they affect business.

So, what do you need to know about blackouts?

1. Blackouts can affect your business long after the power comes back on.

How much can your business get done with the lights off and the machines not running? During a blackout, your company is on hold, which means your customers are waiting, your employees are stuck at a standstill, and you’re losing money every minute. All of this is happening as you are falling behind in your production and having to play catch-up while your customers wait.

2. 1 hour of downtime can actually mean several hours of losses

For every hour of downtime, you may be looking at several hours of costs. Not only are your machines unable to produce, but so are your employees, not to mention any unexpected costs from a blackout. Even a short blackout can take several hours of maintenance just to get your business up and running again.

3. They’re avoidable!

Emergency power is a key tool for your business. Blackouts are going to happen, and when they do, you can be prepared. Keeping the lights on and the lines moving means your business won’t skip a beat when other companies may be scrambling to get back online!
